Founded in 1990, AFFIMER is dedicated to promoting research and public education by obtaining scientific and cultural information through international mountaineering expeditions. The foundation has helped fund important mountaineering expeditions around the world since its incorporation, including the historic 1999 Mallory and Irvine Research Expedition, which located and positively identified the remains of George Leigh Mallory on Mount Everest. We invite you to explore this site to learn more about our mission, past and current projects and the latest AFFIMER news.
Jochen Hemmleb has worked with Affimer on both the 1999 and the 2001 Mallory and Irvine Everest Expeditions where he distinguished himself as the world's foremost expert on the history of Mallory and Irvine. He is the co-author of Ghosts of Everest and Detectives on Everest and has agreed to publish for the first time in English Language his complete research papers. See Jochen Hemmleb's Research »
